South Shore

Seaford, Wantagh, Merrick, Bellmore and Freeport are the towns where the water shows up first. Everything south of Merrick Road took water in Sandy, and a lot of what we service now was installed in the eighteen months after it — which means a great deal of it is now due.

Elevated houses brought their own plumbing problems. Supply lines running through unconditioned crawl space under a raised home freeze in a way they never did when the same pipe ran through a warm basement, and we get those calls every January.

We also see more corrosion here than inland. Salt air is hard on outdoor spigots, hose bibs and anything exposed on the south side of a house, and it is worth replacing those before they seize rather than after they snap.
